Rob McElhenney diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders

“Always Sunny in Philadelphia” creator Rob McElhenney said Wednesday that he’s been diagnosed with “neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities.”

He shared the news on his Twitter page, previewing a larger conversation about the diagnosis on the next episode of “The Always Sunny” podcast, which McElhenney hosts with co-stars Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton.

“I was recently diagnosed with a host of neurodevelopmental disorders and learning disabilities! At 46!” McElhenney tweeted.

“It’s not something I would normally talk about publicly but I figured there are others who struggle with similar things and I wanted to remind you that you’re not alone,” he continued.

“You’re not stupid. You’re not “bad.’ It might feel that way sometimes. But it’s not true :).” McElhenney added.

The post drew numerous comments expressing support and appreciation of McElhenney’s statement.

“So amazing Rob, thank you for sharing and helping thousands who may be struggling,” wrote one user.

McElhenney has been actively preparing for the upcoming soccer season in the U.K., where he serves as the co-owner of Wrexham AFC alongside Ryan Reynolds.

In addition to their involvement in the football club, McElhenney and Reynolds recently teamed up with actor Michael B. Jordan to acquire the Alpine F1 auto racing team.
