Chris Evans has traded in his shield for a stroller, as the Marvel alum and wife Alba Baptista are first-time parents.
An insider confirmed to People that “Captain America” himself, 44, and the 28-year-old “Warrior Nun” star welcomed daughter Alma Grace Baptista Evans on Friday in his native Massachusetts.
The couple is “enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family with their new baby,” said the source.
When Evans was crowned the magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in late 2022, a source said he was already “over a year” into his tight-lipped relationship with the Portuguese actress.
“They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her,” the source said at the time.
The “Materialists” star and Baptista met in Europe and things “got serious very quickly,” a source told People in September 2023, after they married on Cape Cod. The private ceremony was attended by Evans’ superhero costars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner. Evans and Baptista also exchanged vows in Portugal.
“He kept saying he knew she was the one,” the insider said at the time, adding that Evans had “been ready to settle down for a while. … He was just waiting for the right girl.”
