The Internet Is Just Finding Out You Can Customize Your Own Variety Pack of Chips and Everyone Is Losing It

Frito-Lay sure is thinking outside of the box to keep its customers happy — and it seems like social media is just getting wind of it.

After realizing that the selections in classic bulk boxes or bags might make some people salty when they don’t have enough of their favorite flavors, the snack giant launched a service on its snack-shopping site, Snacks.com, that allows you to customize your own Frito-Lay Variety Pack. Translation: You can finally fine tune your ratio of Cheetos to Doritos for a more personalized snacking experience.

Although the service has been available around the country since 2021, TikTok has recently jumped on the bespoke bandwagon now that Frito-Lay has changed the original chip bag limit from 20 to 30 snacks, all for $22.50 (along with free shipping).

So what makes this so special? Well, aside from the fact that you can literally choose any of the varieties you’d like for the 30-pack, it also comes in a bit cheaper than what you would find in stores like Costco and Walmart. For example, a Classic Mix variety 30-pack comes in at 22.99 — with an additional $3 shipping fee — if you were to order through Costco online taking it from 75 cent per bag to around 77 cent instead. And while that doesn’t seem like a huge difference in price, being able to customize the exact chips you want in your pack makes it worth the savings.

There are 44 snacks to choose from, and options range from the traditional (think Rold Gold pretzels, Lay’s Classic potato chips, Fritos, Doritos, PopCorners, Original SunChips, Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn) to the more experimental (Flamin’ Hot Funyuns, Simply Organic White Cheddar Doritos, and Lay’s Chili Limon Potato Chips). With all of these choices, you can easily chip away at any mood of munchies, pun intended.

Too hungry to get your creative juices flowing? They also offer you a little inspo to get you started with recommended boxes full of all the traditional favorites grouped together by taste profile, such as cheesy or spicy.

“Our fans have asked for a way to make their own Frito-Lay Variety Pack for years, and we are thrilled to be able to provide them with this option on Snacks.com,” Rachel Ferdinando, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Frito-Lay North America, said in a news release.
