This pocket-size Hong Kong milk tea spot has become a staple in the Wan Chai neighborhood, even becoming more popular than the historic cha chaan tengs (local diner-like cafes) the area is known for. A team of award-winning tea masters, one of whom you still see working behind the counter most days, developed the shop’s smooth, rich, balanced milk tea. Pair the brew with a fluffy egg sandwich in the morning or a pineapple bun with a thick slab of butter in the afternoon. It looks like a to-go counter from the street, but squeeze through and you’ll find a mini maze of tables farther in.
Vibe check: You’ll go through a lot of friendly jostling, shuffling, and muttering “mm ho yee see” (excuse me) as you wriggle your way in among office workers, locals on their way to the wet market, highschoolers — essentially, the entire neighborhood in all its chaotic glory.
