Starfield Has Passed 10 Million Players – And It Keeps Going

On the 1st of September, Starfield was released for early access users, and then on the 6th of September, it launched globally – including on Xbox Game Pass. It proved to be a titanic title very early on, soaring up the sales charts and shifting two million copies in that early access window, and it just kept on growing. Now, Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that Starfield has passed ten million players – and it has only been on the market for two weeks.

It’s a monumental milestone for any game, but it seems to have been an effortless one for Starfield, which is delivering on expectations that it would be one of the best games ever made. It isn’t without its flaws, that’s for sure – but it’s a phenomenal title that still has the internet ablaze. From fantastical ships to secret easter eggs, and from cheeky exploits to alternate endings, social circles are still abuzz with Starfield discussions and debates.

Is Starfield Really That Good?

I’ve logged around 100 hours on Starfield since it was released, but I’m playing slowly. From what I’ve experienced, Starfield is a fantastic game that makes you want to keep coming back for more, but it definitely has some inherent flaws that are glaring on the surface. For instance, the game’s NPCs are dumb as rocks, and there’s something flawed about the game’s procedurally generated interiors, such as caves and facilities found on moons and planets.

With that being said, I’d still rate it a solid 9/10 – combat is satisfying, ship- and base-building are entertaining, the story is immersive, and there’s so much content to explore. It’s no wonder that Bethesda Game Studios stepped up to report that a whopping ten million players have ventured into the vast expanse that is Starfield in the last two weeks.
