Shacknews Best Art Style of 2025 – Bye Sweet Carole

When we talk about a great art style, we mean something striking. Something that immediately tells players what’s going on, or transports them to a place. A real visual identity. Bye Sweet Carole embodies this perfectly, and it makes for a horror experience like no other.

Bye Sweet Carole is like Disney made an animated horror movie in the 90s. The game is completely hand-drawn making for a beautiful one-of-a-kind animation style. Every single frame of this game jumps off the screen, and seeing it all in motion as you explore various environments is truly something to behold.

Bye Sweet Carole follows the mysterious disappearance of a girl from an orphanage. Playing as her best friend, Lana, you venture through swamps, forests, and cavernous areas as you try to find out what happened to Carole. It’s a journey that’s absolutely bolstered by the game’s stunning art style.

We would argue that Bye Sweet Carole’s art style is its strongest selling point. If you’re browsing the Steam Store and catch a glimpse of its hand-drawn art, you can’t help but click it and see what it’s about. Hats off to the team at Little Sewing Machine for delivering one of the most beautiful games of 2025.
