Humanity’s user-generated content will end in March 2026

Humanity players will no longer be able to upload or play user-generated levels.

It’s the end of an era for Humanity, Enhance’s previous hit puzzle game before Lumines Arise. On Monday, the developer announced that custom stages will no longer be supported after March 2026. Players will not be able to upload or play custom stages after this period.

The User Stages mode in HUMANITY will end service at the end of March 2026. After this time, users on any platform will no longer be able to successfully upload stages they’ve created or play stages created by other users. You will still be able to access any stages you’ve created and saved locally. Over the past two and a half years, we at Enhance have been absolutely astonished by the quality and breadth of puzzles that the HUMANITY community has created using the in-game Stage Creator, resulting in over 30,000 stages shared. We thank everyone for their contributions to this community library.

Humanity’s community-generated content was a major aspect of the game and a big part of what made it the Shacknews Indie Game of the Year 2023. It’s unfortunate to see this feature winding down. An official reason for the end of user-generated content was not provided.

Humanity is available on PC and PlayStation 5, as well as on a variety of VR devices. Enhance has stayed busy since putting out Humanity, most recently releasing Lumines Arise in November.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can’t enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
