The Key of Apostate is likely the final key you’ll need to open all the locks in The Slab in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Here’s where you find it.
If you’ve ever visited The Slab in Hollow Knight: Silksong, there’s a good chance you came across a lock that needed the Key of Apostate. Said Key is, unfortunately, nowhere to be found in the area, and finding it is no small feat, but we’ll show you its location today.

Where to get the Key of Apostate in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Not only is the Key of Apostate not in The Slab, it’s not even on the same side of the map. You find the Key in the Putrefied Ducts on the other side of the Citadel.
To reach the Ducts, you first need the double jump Faydown Cloak, then navigate to it via the Memorium area north of the Choral Chambers. You can also get there by going all the way to the top of Bilewater, through the Graol the Great boss, and up through the breakable floor.

Between the two, you are much better off going through Memorium. Bilewater is a horrible place, and no one likes it. Graol the Great is also awful. It is technically a shorter path once in the Ducts if you come up from Bilewater, as you come out in the chamber that hides it. The trouble is, you have no way of getting to the Ducts, as the path is blocked by one-way breakable walls.
If you get to the area via Memorium, take the same path you would to get the Putrefied Ducts map, but instead of going left in the vertical chamber, continue down through the small hole in the floor.
Keep heading down through a second hole in the floor, then through it to reach the lowest level. Make your way left through the first breakable door, then the second in the hallway beyond it.
The Key of Apostate is on the far leftmost side of this chamber. From the entrance, jump onto the topmost platform to your left, then kill or avoid the large Ductsucker enemy.
Eventually, you’ll reach what appears to be a dead end, but is instead a breakable wall. Slash your way through it and you’ll shortly come upon one of the tentacled monsters having taken too large a bite out of one of the wardenbugs of The Slab.
Both ended up quite dead, and the Key of Apostate rests beneath their shared corpses.
