How to complete With A Trace – ARC Raiders

With A Trace is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in Security. She wants you to investigate a downed machine and work out who is responsible. As part of this quest, you will need to reach the Barren Clearing, find signs of who brought down the ARC machines, visit the Adorned Wreckage, and then find the communication device.

With A Trace

With A Trace has four main steps and all of them take place on The Blue Gate map. Your reward for completing it is a Looting Mk. 2 Augment and a Medium Shield. Here are the steps:

1. Reach the Barren Clearing
2. Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines
3. Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
4. Inspect the communications device

Where to find the Barren Clearing

The Barren clearing is found in the northwest side of The Blue Gate. It’s located to the left of Raider’s Refuge. This area is devoid of trees and littered with giant ARC machines.

Where to find signs of who brought down the ARC machines

Once you’re in the Barren Clearing, you need to find signs of who brought down the ARC machines. Go to the southwest side of the Barren Clearing and look toward the main wreck. You’re looking for a ball against one of the legs. A yellow Investigate prompt will appear. After searching the round joint, the next step will begin.

Where to find the Adorned Wreckage

You must now find the Adorned Wreckage. This is a different area in The Blue Gate. The Adorned Wreckage is south of Barren Clearing. You’re looking for the large wreckage that’s covered in cables and dishes.

Where to find the communications device

When you reach the Adorned Wreckage, look for the computer terminal on the south side of the area. Turn on the yellow computer to finish the last step in With A Trace.

With the four quest steps done, head back to Speranza. Speak with Shani and claim the rewards for finishing With A Trace. From here, you’ll have even more quests to complete, so stay tuned to our ARC Raiders page for help finding other tricky items.
