Time-travelling psychological horror game Cronos: The New Dawn is finally getting an additional, easier difficulty mode for people who want less of a gameplay challenge.
Temporal Driver, as the mode will be called, will arrive in early 2026, and it will double player health while halving enemy health. And that’s it; otherwise, the experience of the game will remain intact.
Currently, there are only two difficulty modes in the game, standard mode – labelled Anvil of the Collective – and a hard mode labelled Forged in Fire ( unlocked after completing the game once on standard mode).
Polish developer Bloober released Cronos back in September and it reviewed well. Our Kelsey gave the game four stars in their Cronos: The New Dawn review, calling it “Bloober Team‘s best original game yet”. “An immersive romp through a suffocating portrayal of 80s Poland, where your journey is far from what it first seems.”
There’s currently a Cronos demo available on Steam and Epic, too, if you fancy giving it a go.
