After noticing Stella Kidd’s absence in the latest episode of Chicago Fire Season 14, fans are wondering when the character will return. Given that she has been one of the show’s central characters, the sudden absence has caught viewers off guard. However, there is a heartwarming reason why she’s not in the episode.
Here are all the details.
When Miranda Rae Mayo’s Stella Kidd will return on Chicago Fire?
A fan-favorite character, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), was notably absent in the latest episode of Chicago Fire, and now fans want to know when she will return.
For context, earlier in the season, Kidd and her husband, Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), decided to foster Isaiah (Hero Hunter). His mother, Shawna, had been in a car accident, and since then, the pair has taken him in as their own.
Later, the show revealed that Isaiah’s mother was in a coma and needed full-time medical care. Following a referral from Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), the director of Chicago Med, the couple decided to get Shawna admitted to the facility in Ohio. So, Kidd temporarily left the city to ensure that the transfer went smoothly. She also took Isaiah along to assure him that his biological mother is in a safe place and taken care of.
In the latest episode, titled “Pierce the Vein,” the show addresses her absence through a brief conversation among its characters. While having breakfast, Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) asks Severide how Kidd and Isiah are doing. He explains the situation and informs that Kidd’s been furloughed for two weeks, saying, “Two weeks of furlough. Hoping no longer than that.”
While Stella Kidd is out of town, she is not the only one who will be on a hiatus. The show itself will be off air for its fall break, meaning Episode 7 served as the mid-season finale.
These kinds of breaks aren’t unusual for the show. In previous seasons, Chicago Fire has gone on break just before the holiday season, and returns sometime in January. So, fans can expect the same this time as well.
