VIDEO : Martin Scorsese’ Killers of the Flower Moon New York Premiere Alice Tully Hall

Directed by Academy Award-winner Martin Scorsese, “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” tracks the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight after oil was discovered underneath their land. “Killers of the Flower Moon” also stars Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons, and is from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s #1 New York Times best-selling book.

Scorsese and his crew worked directly with the Osage Nation community prior to and throughout production on the film, to be immersed in the language, culture and to gather information from family stories to bring depth and nuance to the screen.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” reunites Scorsese with screen icons Leonardo DiCaprio (their sixth film together) and Robert De Niro (their tenth film together), as well as many of his frequent collaborators including editor Thelma Schoonmaker, the late music supervisor Robbie Robertson, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto and more. Indigenous actress Lily Gladstone “holds the soul of the film” in a masterful performance that critics are calling “terrific” and “wondrous.” Since its debut at Cannes Film Festival to an extended 9-minute standing ovation, the film has been critically hailed as “gripping,” “explosive” and “a masterpiece,” as well as praised for “the best performance of Leonardo DiCaprio’s entire career.”
