Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Tulsa King’ Rises to the Streaming Summit as Season 3 Continues to Impress

Sylvester Stallone‘s Dwight “The General” Manfredi is back suited and booted, ready to continue his mission to control the criminal underground. Season 3 of Taylor Sheridan‘s Tulsa King debuted on September 21, with two episodes having landed on Paramount+ at the time of writing. One of the hottest series on television, the third season has already caught the eye of critics, who have awarded it a strong 86% rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, which is lower than the perfect 100% of Season 2 and higher than the 79% of Season 1.

In a milestone that will come as little surprise to any subscriber, Tulsa King is currently the most-watched show on Paramount+ in the U.S. Having surpassed South Park to take over the top spot, Tulsa King’s third season continues to dominate the platform as its Season 2 and Season 1 predecessors had. Elsewhere in the top 10, the long-running NCIS is at #3, with everyone’s favorite talking sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, at #4. Criminal Minds just edges into the top 5, leaving Dexter at #6, and NCIS: Tony & Ziva at #7. Everybody Loves Raymond is at #8 amid exciting news for the series, with Big Brother at #9, and Frasier at #10. The logline for Tulsa King Season 3 reads:

“As Dwight’s empire expands, so do his enemies and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”

Critics Are Praising ‘Tulsa King’s Third Season

As mentioned previously, Tulsa King’s third season has been met by plenty of critical praise, even if some audiences remain unconvinced. Collider’s Jeff Ewing, in his official review of the third season, called it the “best outing yet,” adding that Season 3 “boasts greater involvement and development of some key, formerly underutilized players, which benefits its storytelling. There’s also a promise of greater mob danger as the narrative plays out, keeping the pressure on Dwight and refusing to let go.” He went on to say, “While it’s impossible to say how well everything will ultimately come together, Tulsa King Season 3 is a thoroughly tense ride nonetheless — and the best that Sheridan’s series has been so far.”

Tulsa King continues weekly on Paramount+. Stay tuned to Collider for the latest updates.
