Earlier this week, Mint Mobile launched a new option for 5G Home Internet: MINTernet. Powered by T-Mobile, the home Internet service is available for as low as $30/month.
In this article, I’ll share everything you need to know about Mint Mobile’s new 5G Home Internet service. I’ll include what you’ll get for the price and how it compares to other fixed wireless providers.
New 5G Home Internet Plans from Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile (Team Clark’s Review) offers prepaid cell phone plans that include three months, six months or one year of service. Now, the company is offering prepaid 5G Home Internet plans (called Home MINTernet) in the same increments.
Customers who bundle their home internet plan with an existing Mint Mobile cell phone plan are eligible for a $10/month discount. However, you don’t need a Mint Mobile phone plan to get 5G Home Internet. Either way, new customers are eligible for an introductory rate when they switch to Home MINTernet and choose the three-month plan.
Below, you’ll see the prices for each home internet plan. I’ve included the introductory rates and renewal prices for customers with and without a bundled phone plan.

Like Mint Mobile’s cell phone plans, its new 5G Home Internet service is powered by T-Mobile’s 5G network.
Each plan includes unlimited data; however, customers using over 1TB/month may notice slower speeds during congestion. Typically, you can expect download speeds between 133-415 Mbps. Typical upload speeds fall between 12-55 Mbps.
Additionally, there are no extra equipment fees with Mint Mobile’s 5G Home Internet. When you sign up for service, you’ll receive all necessary setup equipment, including a 5G gateway device, via free expedited shipping. Of course, the gateway device must be returned if your service is cancelled or terminated to avoid a non-return fee.
Mint Mobile also claims that setup is fast and easy. According to the press release, “In most instances, go from box to browsing in 15 minutes or less.”

How Does Mint Mobile’s 5G Home Internet Compare?
If you aren’t familiar with 5G Home Internet, it’s a type of fixed wireless internet service that uses nearby 5G cellular signal to provide internet access wirelessly throughout your home. Compared to traditional fiber/cable home internet plans, fixed wireless plans are often cheaper. However, fixed wireless plans are often only available in select areas.

As you can see, Mint Mobile now offers one of the cheapest fixed wireless home internet services available. This applies to both Mint Mobile phone plan customers and those who do not wish to bundle their cell phone and home internet plans.
With Mint Mobile’s 5G Home Internet, you also won’t have any additional equipment charges. Alternatively, Straight Talk Wireless and Tracfone require a separately purchased router that costs $69.99. Total Wireless also requires a home internet router that costs $99.99.
Finally, when it comes to performance, Mint Mobile and its parent company, T-Mobile, offer some of the fastest typical download speeds. In fact, Verizon’s 5G Home Plus plan ($45 bundled with autopay; $70 regular rate) and 5G Home Ultimate plan ($60 bundled with autopay; $85 regular rate) are the only two plans with access to faster download speeds.
