Man, 61, punched in face by stranger in Bronx anti-Hispanic hate crime

A 61-year-old man was punched in the face by a stranger in an anti-Hispanic bias attack inside the lobby of a Bronx apartment building, police said Thursday.

The victim was inside the lobby of the E. 140th St. building near Cypress Ave. in Mott Haven about 5:45 p.m. Monday when the attacker confronted him.

“F—ing Hispanic! Get out of my town!” the assailant screamed as he punched the victim in the face.

The attacker stormed out of the lobby and has not been caught.

EMS was called but the victim declined medical attention, police said. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

Cops on Thursday released a surveillance image of the suspect in the hopes someone recognizes him.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
