Madonna spotted in NYC after hospitalization, illness

Looks like Madonna is getting back into the groove of her everyday life. An onlooker spotted the pop star on a walk around the Upper East Side, two weeks after she was admitted to the ICU for a “serious bacterial infection.”

Entertainment journalist Lauren Conlin posted photos of Madonna on an UES street corner in a TikTok video on Sunday. “Guess who we saw out and about today looking great,” Conlin said.

In the pics, Madonna is clad in a black tee, black shorts, sneakers, and dark sunglasses, with a floppy hat covering her braided hair. She leans against a street post as she pauses at a crosswalk.

On June 28, manager Guy Oseary announced on Instagram that Madonna “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.”

Oseary told fans that the Material Girl’s health was “improving” at the time and that a “full recovery is expected,” but he said that she would need to put a pause on her much-hyped Celebration Tour, which was scheduled to start on Saturday, July 15.

Madonna had been suffering from a low-grade fever for a month but ignored her symptoms as she rehearsed for the tour, according to TMZ. Ultimately, the 64-year-old collapsed and spent several days in the hospital.

After being deemed “in the clear,” Madonna was discharged from the hospital and taken home via private ambulance, according to a CNN source.

Rosie O’Donnell, who starred alongside Madonna in 1991′s “A League of Their Own,” later told Instagram followers that Madonna was “recovering at home” and “very strong in general.”

And Debi Mazar, another celeb pal of Madonna’s, said on Instagram on July 29 that the singer was “on the mend [and] at home resting.”
