A 12-year-old girl died in a house fire that broke out in the Wakefield section of the Bronx just on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Firefighters were called to the two-story home on Boyd Ave. between Bussing and Pittman avenues at 4:19 p.m. and found a blaze coming from the second floor.
Seventy firefighting personnel from 14 FDNY units responded to the blaze in the 2½-story home, located on a tree-lined residential street that includes several brick duplexes.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by 5 p.m.
A 7-year-old boy was injured in the blaze and taken to Jacobi Hospital, and another injured person was treated at the scene, cops said.
