Zaha Calcaire Cuvee Reserve Blanc de Blancs

With the holidays here upon us, and New Years around the corner, we thought this would be a fun wine to review.

This is a bubbly made from high altitude Chardonnay in Mendoza; something a little different in the sparkling wine area that we haven’t tasted too often before.

This wine is made in the Méthode Champenoise (Champagne method) with a second fermentation in the bottle.

Costco’s price was $15.99 which looks to be a few bucks below most other outlets online.

Light gold in the glass, fine to medium effervescence; citrusy flavors of lemon, apple, and peach; good dose of grapefruit with sourness and acidity in the finish; dry throughout; crisp and refreshing.

This is a fun one, and exactly what we were hoping for. Sure you can always go a few bucks more and buy the Kirkland Champagne, which we always keep on hand.

But if you want to serve something a little different, and not have the Kirkland branding on the bottle for your guests, this is a good pick.
