The Mr. Coffee Perfect Brew is a genius coffee and tea maker that streamlines the process of brewing ground coffee and loose-leaf tea — and it’s sleek to boot. The machine uses a single dial to select drinks and integrated buttons to start a brew, delay a brew for later, or set the time, which is displayed directly on the front panel. The Perfect Brew auto-detects whether you’re using the coffee or tea filter, so you don’t mix them up, and while the pieces are dishwasher-safe, you can use drip coffee liners to make cleanup even easier.
As you program your drink selection, the brewer tells you the amount of coffee grounds or tea leaves you need to spoon out with the included scoop. One side of the scoop is for coffee and the other is for tea, which takes all the guesswork out of measuring for the best flavor. It even steeps the tea based on the type you’ve selected, and it brews both tea and coffee at their respective optimal temperatures.
I haven’t had a carafe coffee maker in years, and honestly, I was missing it. The ability to brew tea is also a HUGE benefit since I don’t have to worry about pulling out my variety of infusers or reusable tea bags. I can just pour the loose tea directly into the filter basket! The machine has become a part of my everyday routine that I look forward to using, no matter the hour.
This coffee maker is unable to automatically brew a 32-ounce half-carafe, so you would have to brew two 16-ounce beverages to achieve it. Additionally, the warming plate only activates when using the carafe and shuts off automatically after an hour.
