There are few appliances I love and adore like my Keurig K-Elite coffee maker. When the colder months set in, I use it basically every day. So naturally, when I found out that the pod coffee maker brand released a new model that promises a velvety crema on top of my freshly brewed coffee, I knew I needed to get my hands on one.
I’ve been testing it out for about a month now, and I can honestly say it takes my daily coffee to the next level. Oh, and did I mention it’s on sale right now?
What You Should Know About Keurig’s K-Crema High Pressure Coffee Maker
Similar to other Keurig models, the K-Crema High Pressure Coffee Maker uses K-Cup Pods to brew fresh coffee. The one big and very important difference is the frothy crema feature, made possible by what Keurig has dubbed its “Pressure Infusion Technology.” This is basically a fancy way of saying that this machine uses way more pressure than its other machines (five times more, in fact) to craft that luxurious crema top.
Using the K-Crema is simple: Just pop in your chosen K-Cup Pod, tap the “Pressure” button, select your preferred size (from 6 up to 12 ounces or a single or double shot), and press the lit-up “K” button in the center of the display. Then, the Keurig will get to work. The result is a velvety, robust foam crowning your favorite coffee or espresso in under two minutes (yes, I timed it). You can use this coffee maker to brew non-crema-topped coffees, too. Just press the “Classic” button instead of “Pressure.”

My Honest Review of Keurig’s K-Crema High Pressure Coffee Maker
Not only does this coffee maker brew delicious mugs with luxurious crema on top, but it also looks really sleek in my kitchen. Its gray and black body with a clear water tank on the side looks luxe and allows me to keep an eye on when the water needs to be refilled (there’s also a light on the display that will pop on). Plus, the K-Crema is just a little bigger than my compact espresso maker, so it easily fits on my counter.
While you could never make me hate the Keurig K-Elite, the K-Crema has a really cool feature that the K-Elite doesn’t: It can immediately make my coffee. After I power on the K-Elite, it needs a couple minutes to heat up; the K-Crema doesn’t require that, so I can instantly begin brewing my coffee anytime. I can’t understate how much I love this upgrade as a certified impatient person.
It’s also compatible with the pods I already have, so I didn’t have to toss them and buy new ones. It’s important to note that the K-Crema doesn’t come with a water filter. I reused the one from my K-Elite model, but if you’re a first-time Keurig shopper, you might want to grab one before checking out. As much as I love my K-Elite coffee maker, the K-Crema has earned the coveted spot on my counter instead.
