âTis the season for brands to fill your feed with posts of the most giftable gear and gadgets of the year. And if youâre a food person (youâre here, so weâre betting you are), there are a few youâve probably seen pop up again and again. Below youâll find 15 food gifts weâve had our eye on that weâre planning to give (or, in a few cases, hoping to receive ourselves) this year.
Artsy dinner plates from East Fork
On January 1 of this year, Henri Matisseâs artwork entered the public domain. It didnât take long for his iconic nudes to (legally) end up on posters, T-shirts, and the like. But the best application weâve seen so far comes from East Fork. The brandâs Matisse Collection is uniquely sentimental and significant because the renowned artist was the great-grandfather of East Forkâs founder. The handmade pottery also happens to make a beautiful canvas for the blue (er, Nu Bleu) designs. Weâre especially drawn to the set of four dinner plates because at first glance, they look identical, but each features a slightly different silhouette. Theyâre almost too pretty to eat off of, which is why they make a great gift.
A very cool chai collab
The folks at East Fork have been busy this year. In the fall, they partnered with Diaspora Spice Co. for a Masala Chai starter kit featuring a tin of Diasporaâs Masala Chai blend, a tin of Madhur Jaggery for sweetness, a stainless-steel sieve, and a limited-edition off-white East Fork Kulhad mugâall packaged together and ready to gift. Illustrated step-by-step instructions make it easy for anyone to get started with a chai ritual.
A Dutch oven that isnât Le Creuset
This fall a post flew around the internet that claimed that Le Creuset is no longer cool, mostly due to the fact that some people have started collecting it for clout, often with no plans to actually use most of the pieces they buy. While we disagree (we’ll be cooking in the colorful French cookware until we die) there are other heirloom quality enameled cast iron Dutch ovens that make great gifts too, and they’re both from brands we trust. In our testing, Staub’s cocotte actually outperformed Le Creuset’s Signature Dutch oven by a hair, and we found Made In‘s to be a wonderful, comparatively affordable alternative to Le Creuset.
A luxe hand soap for the kitchen
We’ve been buzzing about Naomiâs After-Cooking Hand Scrub since we tried it earlier this year. Designed especially for home cooks, it neutralizes cooking smells like garlic and onion with bread yeast enzymes, moisturizes with jojoba seed wax, and exfoliates with tiny beads of volcanic rock. The best part, however, is the subtle, luxurious notes of bergamot, black pepper, sandalwood, and ginger that linger on the skin. It’s a perfect gift for home cooks who like high-end personal care products, but there’s also a fragrance-free version for those who would rather not smell like they just washed their hands in a fancy hotel.
An all-in-one coffee station
Coffee maker brands have, increasingly, been cramming more and more brewing options into a single machine. And Ninja has found space for an extra option or two that has created a real âsomething for everyoneâ piece. The Ninja Cafe Premier looks like a lot of other espresso machines (and itâs certainly that), but it can also brew single cups of coffee in a whole batch of sizes and two different kinds of cold brew.
Pamela Andersonâs Pickles
Pamela Anderson is having a moment, and though her love affair with Liam Neeson may or may not be legit, her pickles sure are. Anderson loves to garden, and a flair for fermentation runs in her family. So when she approached California-based lifestyle brand Flamingo Estate with the idea of packaging her Spicy Rose Dill Pickles, it was an easy yes. Less easy? Snagging a jar of these small-batch snacks while theyâre in stock.
A countertop oven developed with Kenji López-Alt
DTC cookware brand Our Place entered the countertop appliance category a few years ago, and while its original Wonder Oven wasnât the most high-tech option out there, it sure was the cutest. For the second iteration of the oven, the brand brought in the Internetâs favorite food nerd, chef and writer Kenji López Alt. The Our Place Wonder Oven Pro is a bigger, better oven with eight presets, a digital control panel, and López-Altâs seal of approval.
Nespresso, but make it single origin
When it comes to pod coffee, Nespresso is the best game in town. What could make those Nespresso capsules better? If you could start to get the kind of delicious, varied flavors that the best coffee roasters in the country have been working on for years. Now you can give that to your favorite Nespresso head in the form of the brandâs single origin series with picks from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ethiopia, and Colombia.
A way to make any drink bubbly
Bubbles make almost every drink better (especially a bottle of bad rosé), and the Breville InFizz Fusion is a stylish, all-purpose sparkling beverage maker that will carbonate so much more than just water. Unlike straight-up soda makers, the InFizz fusion is indicated for wine, juice, and even cocktails. It also has a sleek stainless steel body and comes in a handful of tasteful finishes. Oh, and it just happens to have been chosen as one of the best new kitchen launches in our Gear of the Year Awards.
A sleek pair of kitchen shears
This pair of kitchen shears has been on senior commerce editor Olivia Tarantinoâs wishlist for years. After months of being out of stock, theyâre finally available again. Sure, theyâre scissors at their coreâbut far from your average pair. The micro-serrated blades are ultra-sharp, making it easy to slice through tougher foods, like when youâre breaking down a whole chicken. Theyâre also perfect for snipping herbs straight into a pan (no cutting board required), trimming extra fat off a skirt steak, or, yes, opening that stubborn package of bacon.
A stand mixer you’ll want to display on your counter
A stand mixer with a walnut bowl might sound a bit extra, but thatâs exactly why we love it. KitchenAidâs Design Series Stand Mixer, which dropped in a gorgeous evergreen shade last year, is back in a new pearly white that feels softer and warmer than the classic. Itâs got all the power and reliability of the brandâs beloved Artisan line, just dressed up for the countertop. The wooden bowl does need a little TLC (you do have to dry and oil it after use), but thatâs part of the charm if you bake for the joy of it.
A truly portable pourover
This compact, collapsible pourover from Miir is the perfect gift for the frequent flyer who wouldnât dare drink anything from a hotel room coffee makerâor their parentsâ crusty old Keurig machine. The simple design features three interlocking stainless steel panels that are slim enough to slip into a purse or carry-on bag. Itâs a cool concept, and fun to put together on the go. For a more substantial gift, pair it with a pack of Miir filters and a bag of your favorite coffee.
The hottest coffee release of the year
OK, so itâs not technically ready to show up under the tree at this point, but Fellowâs Espresso Series 1 was one of the coolest appliances weâve tried in years, and if you have a very special coffee drinker in your life, itâs definitely worth a pre-order (delivery is slated for early 2026). The Series 1 follows in the footsteps of Fellowâs terrific Aiden drip coffee maker that is both endlessly tweakable for the coffee nerd who needs the parameters of their brew just so, but also can be set to be so simple that, in the words of Fellow founder Jake Miller, his mom (who is very much not a coffee nerd) can make herself much better coffee in the morning too. The Series 1 offers both manual shot pulling, full of data on flow rate, water temperature, and the like, as well as one-button auto brewing that still produces cafe-quality espresso.
And, of course, wine
Wine is an easy gift for anyone who partakes, and the new Bon Appétit Wine Shop makes it easier than ever to pick a gift-worthy red, white, or bubbly. You wonât find an overwhelming selection here because every bottle is handpicked by our editors or trusted wine experts. Cheers to that!
