Now that Patch 13.14 is live, let’s see what Riot has planned for the upcoming LoL Patch 13.15, which is going to be released on August 2, according to the official patch schedule.

LoL Patch 13.15 Notes Overview
Patch 13.14 marked the start of the second ranked split of the season. Players will have a second chance to grind to their desired Elo, and alongside the ranks reset, Riot decided to bring major tweaks to quite a few champions, including Zyra, Xerath, and Lissandra.
While these are all welcome changes, the general impression is that the game has entered once again a stale state and fundamental changes might be needed to shake things up again. For now, however, we have little information on what might be coming in the next patch.
Two patches ago, Riot had intentions to shake up the top lane meta, buffing some of the least popular picks. Most of those changes didn’t end up making it through, so this might be the right moment to implement them.
On July 24, however, lead game designer Riot Phroxzon revealed they have plans to nerf the AP version of Kai’Sa, as well as change the interactions for Statikk Shiv and Night Harvester on champions like LeBlanc. He also added that they are monitoring the Statikk Shiv and that they think it’s appropriate for most users so far. Additionally, they are looking to nerf Glacial Augment and some of the stronger champions like Aatrox, Ivern and Shyvana.
Riot Raptorr, on the other hand, shed some light on their stance between mid and jungle Naafiri. They have been testing things to make a healthy jungler but concluded they want to focus on balancing her around the mid lane first. With that in mind, the PBE jungle-oriented changes have been pulled back.
With the start of the Summer event, on the other hand, a lot of players will focus on the new game mode, LoL Arena. The 2v2v2v2 has been well received by the community and it will be the highlight of the next month. Riot also released an Arena micropatch. Even though it’s not on live servers yet, the devs are planning to get it out soon. You can find the nerfs at the very bottom of this page, after the Patch 13.15 changes.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?
While we do have some numbers from the changes, it’s still too early to judge how the meta will shake up. That said, the smite change on pets will be beneficial to all those champions that use them, such as Ivern, Annie, and Yorick, which coincidentally all happen to be on the patch list.
Aside from that, we’ll have to see how they plan on nerfing the rest of the stronger champions since Maokai and Sejuani have had an insane presence in competitive games, and Aatrox is S-tier in solo queue right now.
