Music can do much more than soothe the savage beast in Ghost of Yotei.
Your Shamisen in Ghost of Yotei is not just a pleasant musical instrument; it is also an important game mechanic. Over the course of the game, you will be able to learn various songs that can lead you to certain places, help you find collectibles, or even help you find enemies.
How to get all Shamisen Songs in Ghost of Yotei
There are a total of nine Shamisen Songs that you can learn over the course of the game. You can find them all below, with how to get them, and maps where helpful. Not all these need specific locations; however, some will just require you to hit certain milestones in the game.
Shamisen Song #1 – Atsu’s Song
This is learned during the prologue and is a simple tune that you can play from time to time throughout the story.
Shamisen Song #1 – Song of Well-Being

This is a useful song that will lead you to the nearest Hot Spring. You can learn it by making your way to the Shamisen practice spot to the north of the Crimson Dye Beach on the Stone Jaw Coast of Ishikari Plain
Shamisen Song #3 – Song of Spirit
This will lead you to the closest Bamboo Strike that you can complete to increase your Spirit. For this, you will need to complete the Master of the Shamisen quest. You can get this quest by interrogating enemies and rescuing distraught citizens that you come across while exploring the game. When you get the quest, just go to the garden on the Yotei River and explore it.
Shamisen Song #4 – Song of Vanity

This will lead you to the nearest vanity item, which can be found by completing the Shamisen Practice in Teshio Ridge. It is located ot the southeast of the Black Dye House, in the mountains.
Shamisen Song #5 – Song of the Ainu


This song will lead you to the nearest Ainu item, things that are almost impossible to find otherwise. You will need to complete the Soul of an Instrument quest in Tokachi Range at the Ainu Musicians Camp, and the Melody of Thoughts quest in Nayoro Wilds at the Cukpet Hills Campsite.
Shamisen Song #6 – Song of the Wolf.
For this song, which will lead you to the nearest Wolf Den, all you need to do is complete any four Wolf Dens.
Shamisen Song #7 – Song of Shrines
This song will lead you to the closest shrine and is learned from a random visitor to your camp. All you can really do is camp every now and then until he shows up. You can set up a camp by holding the left button on the D-Pad.
Shamisen Song #8 – Song of Revenge

This song will lead you to the nearest occupied territory, such as an enemy camp. You will need to complete the Those Who Leave quest in Tokachi Range. This can be started at the Musician’s Camp to the southwest of Huranuai’s Rest Inn.
