How to complete the Incendiary-Round Shotgun challenge in Battlefield 6

The Incendiary-Round Shotgun damage challenge is a slog even after the recent requirement reduction. Here are some tips on how to get it done.

Some of the challenges in Battlefield 6 are simple and straightforward. Assault Expert 2, where you need to deal damage with the Incendiary-Round Shotgun, is not one of these. It’s overly grindy, the weapon is inconsistent at the best of times, and things don’t work exactly as you’d expect. We’ll discuss the best ways to complete the challenge here.

To complete Assault Expert 2, you need to deal 500 damage with the Incendiary-Round Shotgun, but there’s a catch. The fire damage doesn’t seem to count, only the pellets fired by the shotgun shells themselves.

In other words, only the bullet impacts do anything. The lingering damage over time is wasted potential damage toward the challenge. Worse, the gun is…well, it’s not great. It has a very low one-shot potential, a small magazine, a short range, and is generally clunky as all hell.

The best way to complete the Incendiary-Round Shotgun damage challenge, then, is to do it by brute force. There are a couple ways to go about that.

First, you can go into close-quarter, high-action game modes like Breakthrough or Team Deathmatch and run at the enemy team, shotgun first. Take flanking routes and go to other, less-traveled areas of the map to maximize the amount of shells you can put downrange.

Stick to maps like Iberian Offensive, Manhattan Bridge, Empire State, and Siege of Cairo. Filter out the big ones like Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley while going after Incendiary-Round Shotgun damage.

Thankfully, you don’t need to get kills with the thing to progress the challenge, just know that your K/D and likely Win/Loss will take a beating while you work on the challenge.

You can also use the Portal to farm bots for the challenge if you’d prefer a slightly less infuriating way to get it done. You can go into the Casual Breakthrough servers, of course, but there are a couple of good community Portal servers worth your time, too.

  • Breakthrough 3v21 Grenades: YP7X6

Any bot server will do, of course; these two simply offer a relatively user-friendly experience. Since the amount of damage you need to do was reduced to 500 from the absurd 5,000 it was before, you won’t be spending too much time on it, even if your luck is bad.

Say a prayer for the players who had to muscle through the unpatched damage requirement, though. They earned it.
