It’s that time of year again – many of the CS2 rosters look to be making changes for the new game, with the rumor mill in full swing. We’re here to show you the moves that have been made so far, as well as those rumored on the grapevine!
Confirmed CS2 Roster Changes
Cloud9

Out of seemingly nowhere, sh1ro has requested a transfer from Cloud9. Hopes were high for the superteam, but they haven’t quite lived up to expectations. They have replaced him with IGL Boombl4 from 1WIN, bringing back most of the core of 2021 NAVI, and leaving them without an AWPer.

Heroic

After benching their AWP and IGL in cadiaN, Heroic went ahead and replaced him with… neither of those things. Now, dupreeh has a winning pedigree as a five-time Major winner, but he isn’t a role fit for what Heroic needs right now. For now, dupreeh’s contract is only confirmed until the end of 2023, to help Heroic see out the final CS2 tournaments of the year. It keeps him in good stead for the first CS2 Major in Copenhagen, though. Then, there’s the whole CS2 Heroic roster drama, which saw stavn and jabbi dropped from the lineup. Heroic are a mess right now.
For the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Finals, a bizarre twist in the tale has unfolded. Young talent Zyphon has been loaned from Sprout for one tournament, and cadiaN (yes, cadiaN!) is back as a stand-in for one last dance. Crazy.

NAVI

With s1mple taking a break from competitive play, NAVI has signed young Sprout talent w0nderful in his place. No pressure, kid.

Ninjas in Pyjamas

A period of failure for NIP has seen them pull es3tag off the bench after 10 months of inactivity, as well as purchasing IGL ALEX from Movistar Riders. As they look to qualify for the first CS2 Major, hampus and Brollan are the two victims here, but realistically it could have been either k0nfig or REZ benched. Is this a roster that can challenge for CS2 tournaments yet though? Only time will tell.

Vitality

With Magisk seemingly picked up by Falcons, Vitality has acted fast to secure the signature of British rifler mezii. He’s been stuck on a middling Fnatic roster for a while now, but has always looked a level above. Playing with Vitality should help him add some silverware to the trophy cabinet.

Rumored CS2 Roster Changes
Astralis

At the heart of the spiciest CS drama of 2023, Astralis look to be bringing in jabbi and stavn from Heroic. Given dev1ce and Buzz’s close friendship, it would likely be b0RUP and Staehr to make way for the duo. If it comes to fruition, Astralis look a scary prospect for 2024.

Falcons

After Falcons used its deep pockets to lure legendary coach zonic into the fold, their intentions were revealed. Ever since, the rumor mill has been nonstop, linking every big-name player with a move to the Saudi Arabian team. While NiKo seemed set to join the team, a dramatic U-turn saw him turn the superteam down, which in turn cooled down the rumors around m0NESY joining the team, too. Magisk’s contract situation at Vitality and Snappi’s success at ENCE have seen them become frontrunners to join one of the most exciting potential CS2 rosters possible.

Complexity’s parent company, GameSquare, recently confirmed its purchase of FaZe, to go through later this year. This creates a clear conflict of interest that won’t be allowed to stand. Current rumors suggest the current FaZe roster will be auctioned off one by one, to different teams around the world. If true, it’s a sad end to one of the great CS teams.

If these recent Liquid CS2 roster rumors come to fruition, the NA team are back. Rumor has it that this will be cadiaN’s project, beginning with the signing of Twistzz from FaZe. Liquid is his old team, so it’s certainly possible. Backed up by Brazilian talent skullz, this Liquid roster would be eligible for the Americas RMR, giving them an easier path to every CS2 Major too.
