From December 8, the Call of Duty League 2024 is live, and one of the most exciting things for fans is the unveiling of the new season’s skins. They’re typically picked up by the most devoted fans; they’re worn by the players who want to represent their favourite team in-game in Modern Warfare 3 or Warzone. Recently, a leak went live on Twitter, showcasing every weapon and Operator skin for the CDL 2024 season, lifting the lid on them ahead of the official reveal.
It’s a mixed bag, that’s for sure. I’m having trouble picking a favourite, and you’ll see what I mean below. Every year, there are a few skins that dominate the crowd based on how they look. For instance, some players will opt for a darker skin just because it offers a tactical advantage – so the likes of Atlanta FaZe and LA Thieves skins have sold well in the past on that concept alone. This season, the paradigm might shift somewhat, as no skin seems to be ‘more OP’ than the others.
CDL 2024 Skins Leaked in Full
During the off-season, it was said that the CDL teams themselves were having an input in the design of their organisation’s skin. However, we can see now that the creative freedom they had was very limited. There are very basic differences between each skin, with the weapon skins being a little more inventive than the Operator skins. There are stark differences in the colour palettes used, but apart from that, they are all quite similar.
CDL 2024 Operator Skins
As an OpTic fan, I have to stress my concern that year-on-year, it’s the brightest skin on the board. That means it’s always the easiest skin to be seen wearing, but this season, it has some competition in that respect. If you take a look at the selection above, which was unearthed by ForwardLeaks on Twitter, you can see that Surge, Ultra, Miami, and LAG are all toting similarly bright skins.
CDL 2024 Weapon Skins
Like I said, the weapon skins are where things really shine this season. They’re all unique and it’s hard to pick which one is best – it’s a sorely subjective debate this time around. I’ll agree that OpTic Texas’ skin isn’t very attractive at all, and I’m leaning towards the Subliners or Vegas Legion skin for the cream of the crop. I’ll stress that the Miami Heretics skin looks like a Nerf gun, but some players will find that entertaining, so it might sell well for the team’s first season in the CDL.
Which bundle will you be purchasing this season? Will you be backing your favourite team or picking up another team’s pack based on the weapon skin?
