Netflix’s smash-hit 2025 animated movie KPop Demon Hunters quickly became the most-watched film on the streamer.
This had led fans to wonder if there will be a sequel, and if a live-action movie could be in the works one day.

Maggie Kang, the creator and co-director of Kpop Demon Hunters, confirmed to BBC that she would not make a live-action version!
Why? “There’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation. It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world. It would feel too grounded. So totally it wouldn’t work for me,” she shared.
Then, she added that with a sequel, they have “nothing official we can talk about” but “there’s definitely more we can do with these characters in this world.”
“And whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see,” she continued.
