Rebecca Ferguson’s Silo Season 4 Gets Major Filming Update While Season 3 “Is Still In Post”

Silo season 3 isn’t even out yet, but there’s already good news about season 4 of Rebecca Ferguson’s Apple TV sci-fi series.

Ferguson’s Silo co-star Steve Zahn just offered a status update on season 3, and then made it a double-update with some news about season 4.

We’re in [Season] 4 right now,” Zahn revealed in a recent interview (via Collider). “We’re in the middle of 4, and it’s the biggest show.” He added, “There’s so much going on. Season 4 is really cool.”

Zahn’s remarks serve as confirmation that his character Jimmy (aka Solo) will appear in season 4 in some capacity. The actor doled out a further little tease about season 4’s setting, saying “There’s a lot in 4. It spreads out all over. It gets really cool. There’s a lot of action.”

In addition to his major season 4 updates, Zahn dropped some info about where Silo season 3 currently stands, saying “Season 3 is still in post. It’s coming out. I don’t know when. It’s a complicated show. There’s a lot going on as far as visual effects.”

Apple TV has already confirmed that Silo will end with season 4.

Fans of the Hugh Howey books upon which Silo is based voiced concerns about season 3’s story, and specifically about how much Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols will be featured, given that season 2 ended at the point where Howey’s books leave Juliette’s story to delve into the history of the silos.

Showrunner Graham Yost calmed such worries, however, saying in a January 2025 interview (via TVLine), “In the book Shift, Juliette doesn’t appear until like the last page, right? It’s about this silo [No. 18], but it’s also the origin story of the whole silo project.”

Yost went on, “I would say that we have Rebecca Ferguson playing Juliette, and she is not just going to be in the last scene of the season. Juliette would be a big part [of season 3].”

Silo season 3 is also set to introduce some major new characters who seemingly will figure into the silo origin story mentioned by Yost. Ashley Zuckerman is playing Daniel, a Congressman, while Jessica Henwick plays Helen, a reporter.

Not returning for Silo season 3, or 4 for that matter, are Tim Robbins, whose character Bernard is confirmed to be dead after the shocking events of season 2, and Iain Glen, who died during an act of self-sacrifice.

Silo season 3 is set to arrive some time in 2026.
