Sakamoto Days fans rejoice, as just three months after the anime finished airing its first season, the franchise has confirmed the production for its second season during Jump Festa 2026.
As part of this announcement, Sakamoto Days Season 2 unveiled a new teaser trailer and visual. While neither teasers hinted at a release date, the anime looks better than ever.
Sakamoto Days Season 2 Confirms Production with New Teaser Trailer and Visual
As fans must recall, after Sakamoto Days Season 1 finished airing, fans were worried about the franchise. While the anime was a hit on Netflix, the staff did not confirm the production for its second season.
From the looks of it, they were planning to announce the anime during Jump Festa 2026 from the get-go. Hence, Sakamoto Days’s Jump Festa Super Stage saw the anime’s Japanese voice actors take the stage and make the announcement. The guests were:
- Tomokazu Sugita (Taro Sakamoto)
- Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin Asakura)
- Daisuke Namikawa (X/Slur)
- Kouki Uchiyama (Gaku)
The voice actors together unveiled the teaser trailer and visual for Sakamoto Days Season 2, confirming the anime was in production. That said, the teaser only mentioned that the anime was “Coming Soon.” Hence, there is no release window for the anime. Considering the situation, fans should not expect the Netflix anime to drop anytime before 2027.
Sakamoto Days Season 2 Looks Better Than Ever
As seen in the teaser trailer, Sakamoto Days anime looks better than ever. The anime’s first cour faced a lot of criticism for its animation. Given the franchise’s reputation, fans expected exceptional work on the series. However, the quality did not match their expectations.
Although the second cour was an improvement on the previous one, fans were disappointed that the entire season did not look as good. Fortunately, as evident from the second season’s teaser, TMS Entertainment is set to put their best foot forward for the upcoming season.
