‘Landman’ Star Reveals Taylor Sheridan’s Rugged Leadership Style

One of the stars of Taylor Sheridan’s biggest new series is opening up about the Yellowstone writer’s rugged leadership style on set. Sheridan recruited Ali Larter to play Angela in Landman, the wife of Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) who has consistently been one of the most controversial characters in the show since its premiere. Landman Season 1 marked the first time Larter and Sheridan worked together. During a recent interview with People Magazine, she spoke about how much more difficult things were in her debut season than they have been in Season 2.

When asked about her relationship with Michelle Randolph, who plays Larter’s on-screen daughter Ainsley Norris, Larter said, “We spent a lot of time together in the first season when there wasn’t handholding. There wasn’t, ‘You’re doing a great job!’” She then went into detail about how things function on a Taylor Sheridan set, which is more results-driven. “You kind of were thrown into the fire and into a very high-pressure, high-octane set. It was really amazing that we had each other to lean on, and so I think that really formed this bond [between us.]”

Landman Season 2 is set to come to a head soon, but fans can rest easy knowing that the show isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. After new Landman star Sam Elliott let slip that Season 3 was going to begin filming early next year, Paramount had no choice but to announce that Landman had been renewed for Season 3 officially. The first season of Landman was the biggest show ever for Paramount+, and Season 2 shattered Season 1 viewership by a mile. The show will likely be around for a while.

When Does ‘Landman’ Season 3 Come Out?

Although Paramount has announced a renewal, the studio has not yet confirmed when Landman Season 3 will begin streaming. However, with things following a similar trajectory to Season 2, it’s a safe bet that Landman Season 3 will premiere before the end of 2026. Sheridan has plenty of other projects he’s working on at the moment, like the third season of Lioness, but this likely won’t impede work on Landman Season 3 in the next few months. Sheridan has also announced his departure from Paramount, but he will continue to produce TV shows for the studio until at least 2028.
