In the opening moments of Annapurna Sriram’s F**ktoys, both the audience and the protagonist are informed of dire circumstances by way of a tarot card reading in the middle of a swamp. AP (Sriram), a sex worker who has been cursed, is informed that she can break the curse with a sacrifice – the ritual slaughter of a baby lamb. AP confirms this solution over and over with various psychics, all of whom promise that it can be handled – for a fee, of course. From there begins AP’s odyssey through Trashtown, USA in her attempt to raise the money she needs to free herself from this curse.
