Dancing with the Stars viewers may have to rely on platforms other than YouTube to catch the latest episodes of the reality dance series. The live-television platform is currently in a contract dispute with Disney. Consequently, ABC, which airs “Dancing with the Stars”, and other Disney-owned channels have been unavailable on YouTube since October 30. The contract issue started in late October. As a result, fans were unable to watch the show on YouTube TV from the November 4 episode onward.
How to watch Dancing with the Stars live amid ABC dispute
Disney claims to have offered a deal to YouTube with lower overall costs on November 7. Meanwhile, YouTube TV has accused Disney of proposing costly terms that would result in a price hike and limit customer choices. To compensate for this, YouTube TV has issued $20 credits to affected subscribers.
With the ongoing dispute far from being resolved, viewers will need to turn to alternative viewing platforms to stay updated on the latest episodes of Dancing with the Stars.
Fans can catch “Dancing with the Stars” live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. Viewers without a cable subscription can stream it live on Disney+.
One can also catch up on the latest episodes on Fubo TV, DirecTV, and other ABC streaming carriers, which offer free trial periods.
Dancing with the Stars can be watched on Disney+ as well immediately after airing, and on Hulu the following day. Here’s a quick breakdown of the plans:
Disney+ offers multiple plan options. Viewers can pick among monthly, annual, and bundling options. A basic plan, including ads, costs $11.99/month, while a premium plan with no ads is $18.99/month or $189.99/year.
Hulu, on the other hand, has two streaming plans. One includes ads and the other doesn’t. The ad-inclusive plan is priced at $11.99/month or $119.99/year. Meanwhile, the ad-free plan costs $18.99/month.
Also available for viewers is the bundle option of Hulu and Disney+, starting at $12.99/month. It offers access to both platforms, including Dancing with the Stars and other content.
