Bradley Cooper’s Hilarious Romantic Comedy Finds a New Streaming Home 20 Years After it Debuted

A man of many talents, boasting countless acting, directing, writing, and producing credits, and multiple Academy Award nominations, Bradley Cooper is one of the biggest names working in Hollywood today. His latest directorial effort, Is This Thing On? starring Will Arnett, is already earning plenty of praise from critics and a 92% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Twenty years ago, before he was the tour de force of cinema we know and love today, Cooper was still finding his footing in Hollywood, and he more than helped his bid to become a mainstay by appearing in one of the best comedy movies of the decade.

Wedding Crashers, starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, is without a doubt one of the best comedies of the 2000s, and features an incredible supporting cast, including Cooper, Isla Fisher, Rachel McAdams, Christopher Walken, and more. Next month, you’ll get the chance to catch this hilarious rom-com in all its mid-noughties glory, as it has officially joined the ranks of HBO Max as of December 1. This arrival comes amid more speculation about a potential future sequel, with Wilson even previously telling Collider that “there is a script.” For anyone yet to catch this side-splitting comedy, a synopsis reads:

“Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) and John (Owen Wilson) are divorce mediators who spend their free time crashing wedding receptions. For the irrepressible duo, there are few better ways to drink for free and bed vulnerable women. So when Secretary of the Treasury William Cleary (Christopher Walken) announces the wedding of his daughter, the pair make it their mission to crash the high-profile event. But their game hits a bump in the road when John locks eyes with bridesmaid Claire (Rachel McAdams).”

‘Wedding Crashers’ Was a Huge Box Office Hit

Not only was Wedding Crashers a hit with both critics and audiences, but it also made an impressive splash at the 2005 box office. Produced for a reported $40 million, the film returned more than seven times this investment with a final global haul of $283 million. Split between $209 million in domestic revenue and $74 million from overseas markets, the movie finished 2005 as the 13th highest-grossing film of the year worldwide, and even made an impressive further $147 million in home media sales.
