September 2024 was a magical time for not just fans of the MCU but for the cast of Agatha All Along as the show finally made its premiere on Disney+. It followed the villain of WandaVision, Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn (The Studio), on her own journey. Fans walked down the Witches’ Road alongside Agatha and the coven she cobbled together to get her magic back. The coven consisted of Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), Alice Wu-Gulliver (Ali Ahn), Teen (Joe Locke), Lilia Calderu (Patti LuPone), and Westview resident Mrs. Hart (Debra Jo Rupp), who is promptly replaced with Agatha’s ex, Death herself (Aubrey Plaza). Through many twists and turns, Agatha becomes a ghost at the conclusion of Agatha All Along, leaving her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe open-ended.
Talking with Collider’s Taylor Gates in an FYC interview for her role in The Studio, Hahn spoke about the magical show and her hopes for the future. She tells Collider:
“The fans for that show are so moving to me and so passionate. The work that Aubrey [Plaza] and I did together in that show, I’ll hold to my heart forever and always. I don’t think either of us anticipated how deep it would go. She’s one of my favorite actors on the planet, and the fact that we got to do that together, I will hold to my heart forever. I know that there’s unfinished business, but I really hope that we’re able to do something again.”
Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Plans and Beyond
In addition to looking back on the time she spent on the show, particularly with Plaza, and hoping to recreate that magic again someday, Hahn tells Collider she’d take advantage of Agatha’s ghost status. With Jennifer Kale and Agatha Harkness often squabbling like schoolchildren in the show, and Jennifer being a ‘final girl’ by making it off the Witches’ Road alive, it creates the perfect opportunity for Agatha’s ghost to cause some mischief. Hahn says, “Well, I would want to scare the shit out of her, and I would want to screw with all of her skin products and makeup products. I would want to be in the way of her.” She says:
“Although I feel like maybe Jennifer Kale has kind of learned a lot and moved past that, so maybe there’s a connection there. Maybe a deepening of a friendship. We’ve been through too much together for us not to. It’s a lot of history. Although I really did the unforgivable, so I don’t know if she’d be open to a reconciliation.”
Beyond that, Hahn rolled from one successful show into another, with her 2025 hit, The Studio, a satirical Apple TV show about a television studio head (Seth Rogen) navigating corporate demands and creativity. The first season was jam-packed with cameos from the likes of Charlize Theron, Ron Howard, Anthony Mackie, Martin Scorsese, and more. So, who from Agatha All Along would Hahn like to see appear in Season 2? She told Gates:
“I would love to see Aubrey on The Studio as herself and as the character. [Laughs] Would make it really interesting. But definitely as herself. And also Patti LuPone. Forget it. Of course.”
