Diabolical Drones of Doom quest guide – The Outer Worlds 2

Don’t let the robots win.

You will first hear the Diabolical Drones of Doom quest in The Outer Worlds 2 mentioned when you get close to Fairfield on Paradise Island. A guard will fight off a drone and tell you that they have been acting up, coming to the town, and attacking people. This is how to actually do this quest.

When you are told about the drones, you will also be informed about a bounty board in Fairfield, and this is where you need to go to start the quest. The bounty board can be found between the medical building and the constables’ building, and looks like a small electronic terminal.

Interact with the bounty board to get the Drone Swarm bounty, then make sure you select the Diabolical Drones of Doom quest in your Journal so that it is being tracked. After that, follow the waypoint to an outpost that is producing these murderous bots.

Follow the waypoint, and you will eventually come to a large metal fence. Behind this is the outpost. On the way, you might be wondering if you need to climb the very large hill in front of you, but you don’t. Just head around the bottom of the hill to get to the base, which is on the other side at ground level.

As you enter the outpost, a wave of drones will spawn, so take them all out. This will be followed by two more waves, and when they are all destroyed, that’s it; you can consider the outpost cleared out. There is a panel inside the main gate, on the left side, that allows you to disable the outpost, but you will need Engineering Level 2 or the Manual Reset/Electro-Therapist perks to do so.

Now, you do need to return to the bounty board at Fairfield to hand in the bounty and get your payment, so make sure you do that.
