Let the speculation begin! In the meantime, Amazon Live has already scheduled the start of a project of a series of games on the topic of the holidays along with the birth of a new trade-mark, which surely will be weekly. The ex-‘Real Housewives’ star, among others, is expected to end up with a very candid take on this project, and it will for sure be a festive competition with that style embodied in it. The announcement has had reception of different sorts, including from the positive side the idea of the show and from the negative side comments about Frankel’s appearance.

The very first teaser for the show was indeed revealing nothing less than a Bethenny-like total chaos. She put the invitation out there at breakneck speed and in a rhyming way: “You don’t know what I am going to talk about? To find it out, come to my Amazon Live holiday-themed stream.” Then she continues, “Get on and ride with me through my carousel. You can never guess the price, and the gift is sure to surprise you. My man prefers it hot and that’s why I am getting coffee. You know what, switch to my Amazon Live now! What are you waiting for? Welcome.” The one who has fastened the seatbelt and got puzzled intending while captivated the other way round is now going to play her trump card and characterize her public surface.
The announcement was met with a quick response, which, as always with Frankel, was very much divided. However, people were hardly anything but a big mass of excitement for the content. “THE BEST COMPETITION!!! With the best host!,” one exulted, whereas another user wrote, “I’ll be tuning in for sureee.” The presence of reality TV star Natalie Negrotti in the comment section, who was very supportive of the show, certainly created another wave of excitement, with one person saying, “Oh lord, Natalie from big brother,” which suggested a potential crossover between reality TV fans.
On the other hand, a considerable part of the conversation switched quickly and turned from the show to Bethenny Frankel’s looks. The negative comments were very severe and thorough. “Way too much war paint,” that was one of the complaints from a reader, while another pretty much expressed a similar opinion saying, “Baaaad makeup and hair… jus sayin.” Some people were making comments about her face, one of them asking, “What happened to your mouth?!” and another, “please stop botox on your lips,” imploring. One rather nasty critique concluded, “Face is to thin, hairstyle not becoming & too much makeup.” The online critics even used comparisons to make their points, with one person commenting, “You look like a BRATZ doll from years ago,” and another person very oddly asking, “U sure you’re not related to rick pitino?”
Though the talks about looks did not completely bury the comments that were discussing more serious matters. One user criticized the excessive consumerism stating: “There is no NEED for anything NEW from Amazon this year. Consumerism is out of control.” Another user took a more positive approach by commenting on Frankel’s charity work; for instance, she asked how to access BStrong disaster relief program that could assist someone in Jamaica. Additionally, as is typical, several users were concerned about her wardrobe, with one declaring, “I need that white sweater. Where did you get it?????”

Those many different reactions are nothing new for Bethenny Frankel. She has always been a polarizing character who can draw a multitude of opinions, if not because of her sharp business moves, her charitable works or her frequently controversial public persona. The new series on Amazon Live seems to be deliberately feeding off that very dynamic; presenting a platform with her unrestrained hosting style while at the same time inviting the very public scrutiny she is always subjected to.
