The Shark Cordless Detect Pro has so much technology in a small, lightweight machine. My family and I love this vacuum. The three technologies it has are Dirt Detect, to find hidden dirt in your home; Edge Detect, which senses edges and corners when vacuuming and adjusts the suction accordingly; and Floor Detect, which automatically detects the type of floor you are cleaning and optimizes cleaning on that floor type. For example, when I go from our hardwood floors to an area rug, this vac will increase suction on the area rug. You can hear the change as it goes between floor types. I absolutely love that I do not have to switch modes between them.
You can choose Ecoboost on display, which gives you longer battery life and auto mode; the other mode allows you to use maximum suction. On both auto and max modes, you will see the color strip at the top that will either be blue, yellow-orange, or red, depending on how dirty that particular area is when vacuuming.
An attachment comes with the vac to get into corners, or you can use it on the couch cushions, etc. This vacuum is so light. My kiddo loves using it. As far as how long the battery lasts, for us, using this on hardwoods, area rugs, and one room with regular carpet and the vac on auto mode, it lasts about 30 minutes. It would last longer using the eco mode. The battery doesn’t take long to charge, and it can be plugged in on its own or still attached to the handheld part of the vac. Overall, this is super simple to use and works great. I wish the collection chamber were a little bigger, but I can live with it. I also wish that attachments from other shark vacuums would fit this because it would make this vacuum more versatile.
