Elon Musk is calling for Disney CEO Bob Iger to be fired over the entertainment giant’s decision to pull advertisements from his social media platform, X.
“He should be fired immediately,” Musk stated Thursday. “Walt Disney is turning in his grave over what Bob has done to his company.”
The feud between the two billionaires stems from Disney’s decision last month, along with several other major companies, to halt advertising on the platform after Musk voiced agreement with an antisemitic conspiracy theory.
The tech titan has since hinted at an apology for what he referred to as his “dumbest” ever social media post, but followed it up with a profanity-laced message to businesses pulling ads from X.
“Go f–k yourself,” Musk told advertisers thinking of bailing during the recent New York Times DealBook Summit, singling out Iger for his decision to pull Disney’s ads.
So far, representatives for Disney have not responded to Musk’s comments. Iger said at the time that the company “felt that the association with … Elon Musk and X was not necessarily a positive one for us.”
Since Musk bought X last year, the site has been accused of hosting an increase in hate speech, conspiracy theories and misinformation.
During the DealBook Summit, Musk admitted that the current lack of advertisers could lead to the financial collapse of the platform.
“What this advertising boycott is going to do, it’s going to kill the company,” he said.
