A hit-and-run driver who killed a man as he was leaving work in the East Village last year has been arrested, police said Sunday.
Michael Pruitt, 37, zipped off after he plowed into Lucas Jimenez Aburto at the intersection of Third Ave. and St. Mark’s Place around 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 27, cops said.
Jimenez Aburto, 55, was leaving a shift at nearby Ray’s Pizza & Bagel Café when he crossed the avenue against the light.

As the “Don’t Walk” light flashed, Pruitt slammed into Jimenez Aburto and sped away up Third Ave., police said.
The Mexican immigrant and father to 12 children was taken to Bellevue Hospital, but he could not be saved.
Pruitt, of Canarsie, was arrested Sunday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
His arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court was pending Sunday night.
