This is a great dupe for pricier Dutch ovens and for 1/3 of the price! It meets all of the Dutch oven needs. It is sturdy and heats evenly on the stove and the polished metal knob on the lid holds up to the heat in the oven. I also love the color and other color options!
I highly recommend this if you are in the market for a Dutch oven. Save your money on the high-end Le Creuset or Staub.
This was advertised as a chicken fryer, but I know it will function in many other ways. I braised lamb shanks in it and they came out perfectly. I used it on a glass top stove, even though the manual says not to use cast iron or enameled cast iron. It heated evenly and cleaned easily. While it is extremely heavy and a little hard to lift, I know I will use it often.
I received one of these a few years ago as a gift. I use it nearly every weekend at least once and sometimes twice. I use it for soups, stews, chicken and dumplings etc. It performs as advertised and is my favorite piece of kitchen equipment. The only chips are on the rim of the lid from my banging it in the sink while washing it. Otherwise, it is like new. If you are looking for a good, heavy Dutch oven and don’t want to spend a ton of money for the better known brands, this is your piece.
