Here is the full list of the teams that qualified for MSI 2023, the first international League of Legends for season 13.

Teams that will take part in MSI 2023
MSI is the second-biggest international League of Legends competition, only behind the World Championship. Taking place between Spring and Summer, this year’s edition will be held in London, starting from May 2nd. This marks the return of the tournament to the Western world after the 2018 (Berlin) and 2021 (Reykjavík) editions.
Riot Games announced a major format change for both international tournaments this year. For MSI, we will have a total of 13 teams, with the major regions (LPL, LCK, LEC, and LCS) each sending two representatives (one to the group stage, one to play-ins). That said, LCK, the region that won last year’s Worlds, will have both seeds getting straight to the groups stage.
If you haven’t been able to keep up with the various spring splits worldwide, here are all the teams who have qualified for MSI 2023. The list will be updated when new teams will lock in their participation at the event.
Major regions
LCK (Korea)
- T1 (Playoff)
- Gen.G (Playoff)
After beating T1 in the latest LCK Spring Playoffs, Gen.G will have their first-ever appearance at MSI. They will be Korea’s first seed. Runner-ups T1, instead, will be the second seed for the region, and their sixth appearance at the tournament.
LCS (North America)
- Cloud9 (Playoff)
- Golden Guardians (Play-In)
Cloud9 and Golden Guardians will be the two teams representing the LCS at MSI 2023. With Cloud9 winning the Championship, they will go straight to the groups stage.
LPL (China)
- JDG (Playoff)
- BLG (Play-In)
JD Gaming prevailed in the finals of the LPL Spring Playoffs, beating BLG 3-1. With this win, the Spring champions will directly head over to the MSI playoff stage. BLG will have to go through the play-in stage.
LEC (Europe)
- MAD (Playoff)
- G2 Esports (Play-In)
On Feb. 26th, G2 Esports became the first team to qualify for MSI 2023 after winning the Winter split of the LEC. That said, they will have to find out whether they will be going to play-ins or groups stage, depending on their performance in the LEC Spring Playoffs.
MAD Lions have beaten Team BDS in the LEC Spring Finals and will head to London as the first LEC seed.
Minor regions
CBLOL (Brazil)
LOUD has made it once again to the international stage, after participating in last year’s Worlds. They dominated playoffs, winning all the way to the finals through the upper bracket, and destroyed paiN Gaming in the playoffs finals. With one new Korean import in the ADC spot (Route), we might see LOUD be an underdog at MSI.
VCS (Vietnam)
GAM have dominated the VCS Spring once again, locking in their ticket to MSI by prevailing over SBTC Esports 3-1.
LJL (Japan)
- DetonatioN FocusMe (Play-In)
DFM continue to be a dominating presence in the Japanese League, destroying Sengoku Gaming in the finals.
LLA (Latin America)
Despite being the third seed going into playoffs, and losing in the winner’s bracket finals, Movistar R7 took their revenge against Six Karma in the finals, beating them in a close 5-game series.
PCS (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asia, and Oceania)
PSG Talon are once again back on the international stage, after dominating the regular split and prevailing over the other finalist Frank Esports in the PCS Spring finals.
